For those who grew up in the GenerationX era, you’ll recall the radio, cassettes and vinyl record shops filled with what many of us now call “proper music”. Remember waiting all week for the Top of the Pops and being glued to the radio on Sundays for the top 40? There were those that preferred the heavier tones of Led Zep, ACDC, Alice Cooper and the like and those, like us, that loved what many now refer to as post-punk new-wave. It now seems like we lived through the “age of real music” and so, you’ll understand why four seasoned musicians from Cornwall, all of whom lived their teenage years through the mid 70’s to early 80’s, decided in 2007 to collaborate and recreate the music they grew up with. Our aim is to present a frenetic assault on the senses for those that also grew up with Post-Punk Brit-Pop, Mod, New-Wave and Ska. As someone recently remarked “You just played my entire GenerationX record collection” and that’s exactly the idea behind the band. From the upbeat tempo of The Jam, Teardrop Explodes, Billy Idol, The Vapors, XTC, The Cure and Undertones to the diverse sound of The Police, The English Beat, Elvis Costello and Joe Jackson, our goal is to have as much fun performing as you do listening and, to always be both approachable and humble about the music we recreate.
